Death don't have no mercy in this land
Death don't have no mercy in this land
He'll come to your house and he won't stay long
You'll look in the bed and somebody will be gone
Death don't have no mercy in this land
Well Death will go in any family in this land
Well Death will go in every family in this land
Well he'll come to your house and he won't stay long
Well you'll look in the bed and one of your family will be gone
Death will go in any family in this land
Well he never takes a vacation in this land
Well old Death never takes a vacation in this land
Well he'll come to your house and he won't stay long
Well you'll look in the bed and your mother will be gone
Death never takes a vacation in this land
Talk
Great God
Yeah
Well he'll leave you standin' and cryin' in this land
Well Death will leave you standin' and cryin' in this land
Well he'll come to your house and he won't stay long
You'll look in the bed and somebody will be gone
Death will leave you standin' and cryin' in this land
About the author
The builder of this site's blues & folk tabs is blah148; an enthusiast of these going-the-way-of-the-dodo styles of music. This manner of (at least shooting for) note-for-note tablature, or notation, is part of the endeavor of 'transcribing'. Part of the reason for this library of transcriptions is the feeble hope of blah148 that the sound of these recordings will start to rub off, maybe by the 111th or 327th one; in some ways, the number is like a measure of desperation and clawing. It's a way that is recommended to others, though may not necessarily replace hearing these sounds up close & in-person. Here is a sample recording, trying to amalgamate some of these learnings.
