Etta Baker

Much like Patton being born in Mississippi, or Louis Armstrong being born in New Orleans, Etta Baker came up in the heartlands of Appalachia, raised by a musical father in the tiny, hill-country town of Morganton, North Carolina. In a 1989 documentary, Baker mentions how she simply continues in the footsteps of the guitar styles she heard during childhood.
